In 2012 Microsoft’s creative agency created this video to promote Skydrive (the name was actually changed to OneDrive in 2014); a product which allows users to store, sync and share files (photos, videos, music etc.), and access them via a web browser or mobile device.
In partnership with Microsoft’s translation and creative agencies, Matinée completely re-versioned the video in 38 languages. This involved casting and recording native voice artists, to match the original American voice over style as closely as possible. We spoke to over 200 voices before selecting the ones we felt worked best!
After the voice-overs were recorded we then re-created all the graphics and animations in Adobe After Effects. The final video was rendered in a number of file formats to match the specification provided by Microsoft.
They were really happy with our work and we went on to localise a number of other Skydrive videos.
