When Mahmoud Reza Banki contacted us in early 2015 to request our help, we were very excited. To play a small part in helping him to communicate the injustice he suffered was a true honour.
If you are not familiar with the story, Banki was arrested and prosecuted by the United States Attorney’s office, in New York City. He spent nearly two years in prison before winning his case on appeal, with all the charges against him eventually being dismissed, after another two years of court battles.
This video shows a clip of his captivating performance at the TED conference. We were asked to produce Farsi subtitles for this clip of the full 15 minute speech. This has helped him communicate the injustice he suffered to other Iranians. Read more about TED at https://www.ted.com.
